Family Interventions Support - Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service

We understand that whether someone is seeking support or is in recovery from an alcohol or substance use problem, there may still be challenges for those who are close to them. Our Family Interventions Worker, who has lived experience knows how difficult it can be to navigate recovery alongside a loved one. Fears of relapse, treading on eggshells, fear for the future and the stability of the family unit are some of the difficulties to face. Our family interventions support project provides advice and support to help you work through the difficulties and meet others who are experiencing similar concerns.

Rhubarb Farm is a horticultural social enterprise. The farm's aims are to support people to change their lives for the better, and help them to develop confidence, resilience, new skills, and knowledge. Throughout the Rhubarb Recovery Project you will be supported by Recovery Lead, Ben, and our Mental Health trained support workers. You will have the opportunity to do many different and varied roles and hopefully pick up some new hobbies and interests along the way.

We offer opportunities for anyone in recovery from alcohol or substance use, in treatment, or attending another recovery support project, to engage in a range of social and physical activities across Derbyshire. Veteran Led Recovery Connections provides veteran-to-veteran support, befriending and recovery activities for ex-armed forces who have experienced alcohol or substance use problems. STAND TO is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our veteran community.

Let's Talk Wellbeing

Let’s Talk – Wellbeing is a service that provides psychological assessment and treatment for what are known as mild to moderate common mental health problems, which 1 in 4 of us suffer with at some stage in our lives. It is normal to experience changes in your mood and behaviour at times of stress and emotional upset. Your physical health may also affect your mood and stress levels. If these changes continue to affect you, your home or your working life for a few weeks, then Let’s Talk – Wellbeing could help. Having a chance to talk to someone who is qualified to help can make all the difference.

Anyone who lives, works or studies in Derbyshire, or is visiting the county, is welcome to use our branch libraries and mobile libraries. We offer books, CDs, audio books and DVDs for loan. We also offer access to community information, newspapers and a wealth of local studies material. There is free internet access in every library.

Markham Vale Land Services

Markham Vale Land Services (MVLS) provides work experience opportunities in grounds maintenance and land management for adults with learning disabilities located in Markham Vale, Derbyshire. The team of skilled staff provides support for up to 69 days places per week on five days a week.

Mind Infoline

Our team provides information on a range of topics including types of mental health problem, where to get help, medication and alternative treatments and advocacy. We will look for details of help and support in your own area. Our lines are open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays).

Nenna Kind Cancer Support Drop In Centre

The Nenna Kind Centre offers a place for cancer patients, their family and friends to call in and have a chat to one of our volunteers. We have found through experience that family can sometimes be too close to talk as they are feeling confused and upset as well.
