The volunteer Centre promotes volunteering to the general public and supports local groups and organisations with their volunteering good practice. This includes developing and marketing volunteering roles and brokering prospective volunteers into appropriate opportunities.
Breakthrough aims to develop a network of micro-businesses linking community, environment and business. There are opportunities for learning, upskilling and employment via horticulture, woodland management, grounds maintenance, landscaping, sales, retail, joinery, IT, administration and mentoring. We help to improve both your physical and mental health, reduce substance misuse, help you to overcome barriers to employment and reach your goals!
Carers in Derbyshire has been created by a partnership of unpaid carers and local health, social care and voluntary sector organisations, to jointly create a partnership website to act as ‘starting point’ for carers who are using the internet to find help, advice and support services at any time of the day or night.

Social eating at The Church Hall, Casson Street, Ironville every Wednesday from 3pm until 5pm. Have a meal and even get involved as a volunteer – all welcome.
Social eating at Cotmanhay Children’s Centre every Tuesday and Thursday 11.30am – 1.30pm. Go along for a three course meal costing around £2.50 and get involved too as they are always looking for volunteers.
Derbyshire Community Bank is the largest Credit Union in Derbyshire with just over 3500 members. Credit unions aim to help people take control of their money by encouraging them to save what they can, and borrow only what they can afford to repay. They are community savings and loan cooperatives, where members pool their savings to lend to one another and help to run the credit union.
