About the Organisation – Derby County Community Trust

Derby County Community Trust use the power of Derby County Football Club to improve the lives and communities of local people through sport, physical activity, health and education.

We help more than 25,000 people a year and our work is respected and recognised at a national level. We have twice been named English Football League Community Club of the Year.

As a charity Derby County Community Trust has used the power of the club since 2008 - encouraging participation and achievement in sport, improving health and wellbeing, providing and enhancing education and promoting equality and diversity.

About the Project – Active Choices

Active Choices provides support to individuals recovering from alcohol and substance misuse.  The aim of the programme is to support in the recovery and community reintegration of service users who are committed to working towards remaining abstinence.  It provides a relapse prevention programme and enables people accessing the programme to lead less chaotic lives.  The programme aims to promote social inclusion, improve health and wellbeing and reduce stigma.
