STAND TO: Veterans Visit to RAF Museum at Cosford Update – 3 February 2024

Posted on: 15 Feb 2024

Event update from our partners at the STAND TO project:

“On Saturday, 3rd February 2024, 20 of our STAND TO Derbyshire Veterans Community visited the RAF Museum at Cosford, and what a day we had, an early start was had, and as we travelled by coach the banter commenced all in good spirits, on arrival a brew was had and packed lunches distributed.

We then took a spin around the massive array of exhibits, and again the reminiscing and knowledge was spread throughout the group, with AJ taking on the role of Mr History as he took the opportunity to educate a younger member of the crew (it was great to have the son of one of our veterans with us, linking in with family support).

There was even time to get another brew halfway round and it gave the Tankies we had with us time to view some things they hadn’t seen for a few years but could relate to.

We all had a great day, and the return journey was a lot quieter.”
