We would like to share the information below with our partners about the ‘More than just condoms…’ May 2023 sexual health network event for professionals in Derby and Derbyshire!
The event is being delivered by partners from the Derbyshire Integrated Sexual Health Services Team, who are keen to engage with professionals with experience working with people who have a Substance Use need:
'Struggling to know how to approach a sensitive conversation with your clients or students?
Join us to hear from a variety of providers, working with people of all ages in substance misuse, mental health, homelessness and the sex working sector, to explore the stigma, challenges and recognising the hidden needs to accessing services.
Good sexual health is about access - access to services, referral pathways, information, knowledge, and education.
Everyone should be able to access services that feel comfortable and accessible to them, and in a safe space. However, we know that for many the stigma around sexual health can still be a barrier, as well as some of the challenges and vulnerabilities that they may encounter within their own life experiences.
Also, make new connections to support your clients and students - our networking event and ‘market stalls’ offer a great opportunity to speak to local service providers too.
This sexual health networking event is hosted by Derbyshire Integrated Sexual Health Services and is for Derbyshire and Derby City professionals.
Registration is from 9.00am for a 9.30am start.
Refreshments will be provided, and parking is available at the venue.

About the sexual health network:
The sexual health network offers a chance for professionals working with those affected by sexual health to come together, learn, and share knowledge, ideas, and good practice. It is aimed at anyone that is interested in sexual health, including those that work with young people, professionals that support the transition of young people into adult services or that work with adult services.
