Zink’s recovery community team is inviting everyone to enjoy an exciting and meaningful day out at Salford Quays on 25th May 2025, as they take part in their very first Dragon Boat Race. This vibrant event promises not only thrilling competition but also a chance to support a fantastic cause.
The team will be made up of 11 determined individuals—ten rowers and one drummer—who have been training hard in preparation for the big day. They’ll be competing in three adrenaline-pumping races, each one a test of strength, teamwork, and spirit. The atmosphere is expected to be electric, with teams from across the region bringing their energy and enthusiasm to the water.
Zink’s boat will be bursting with power and passion, from bow to stern, as their athletes give everything they’ve got. With every stroke of the paddle and every beat of the drum, they’ll be pushing toward the finish line—laughing, shouting, and celebrating the journey together.
Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or simply soaking up the atmosphere, it’s a great opportunity to show your support for Zink’s recovery community and enjoy a day of fun, connection, and community spirit.
More Information on the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF):
UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF) is one of the most high profile events organised by the Xinhua Chinese Association (XCA). In 2024, over 20,000 people joined us to experience the excitement both on and off the water, with support from local councils, communities and organisations, and Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Manchester. The Festival has been a fast growing event including amateur team dragon boat racing, diversity of culture show and presentations, and taste of authentic food since it was first held in June 2012 at MediaCityUK, Salford.
The RISE project supports people in recovery into jobs, education or training. Our qualified work coaches will help you identify what sort of work you want then take the necessary steps to get you there. It’s all at your own pace and meetings can take place local to you. There’s even the opportunity of a paid micro job to get you started.
