On Wednesday 17th September, South Derbyshire CVS: Future Focus Project, which is one of a number of projects in Derbyshire offering support to people in recovery from drug and alcohol use, welcomed people to their office, The Hive in Swadlincote, for an Animal Magic presentation.
The event was well attended and consisted of an afternoon tea to start, followed by the group meeting and holding animals, as well as finding out all about them. It was very well received, with some people facing fears and holding animals they never thought they would, and others meeting those they had wanted to for a long time.
We had snakes, owls, meerkats, chameleons—to name a few of the recovery mascots showcased by Animal Magic and South Derbyshire CVS.
