Kelsey Family – Stitch Away the Stigma – FINAL SHOWCASE!

Kelsey Family CIC are inviting people from across Derbyshire to join them for the final celebration of the Stitch Away the Stigma project.

This creative journey has brought communities together to explore the stigma surrounding substance use, share lived experiences, and create a powerful collective artwork that continues to grow with every contribution.

The final showcase event will take place on Tuesday the eighteenth of March from eleven in the morning until two in the afternoon at Chesterfield Football Club, 1866 Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S41 8NZ. This gathering will be an opportunity to see the completed quilt, hear the stories behind some of the squares, and reflect on the conversations that have taken place throughout the project. Kelsey Family CIC will also introduce the new Community Craft Guide which has been created so that other communities can run their own creative sessions as part of the legacy of the project.

The event will also mark the moment the quilt is handed over to York Recovery so that Stitch Away the Stigma can continue its journey beyond Derbyshire, carrying forward the voices and messages of everyone who has contributed. This is your last chance to see the quilt on it’s tour of Derbyshire.
