A Warm November Walk for the STAND TO Veterans Group
On an unusually warm November day, the STAND TO Veterans Group enjoyed a walk along the canal from Poolsbrook to the Veteran Community Hub in Chesterfield. The route offered some unexpected spooky sights, with Halloween just behind us—even a “dog fish” made an appearance!
As always, the veterans shared plenty of banter, putting the world to rights and solving all its problems—if only someone had been there to hear their solutions!
The unseasonable warmth proved a little much for some, who opted to finish early at Hollingwood Canal Hub for a well-earned hot brew. The rest of the group continued on to the Veteran Community Hub, where they rounded off the day with a hot drink and a well-deserved slice of cake.
The group is already looking forward to their next outing closer to Christmas—details coming soon!
